About Our System
How it works
Smart Vineyards is an intelligent sensor network and weather station, installed across your vineyard, to monitor environmental factors that will impact the yield of your crop.
This information is sent to a cloud-based central management system, which processes and analyses the data.
The outcome of the analysis could be:-
- Sending alerts about potential frost conditions
- Recommending pest control actions, due to disease forecasting
- Activating automated localised irrigation systems to counter drought conditions
The system provides real-time visualisations via a reporting dashboard accessible from any web-connected devices, helping vineyard management to take the best course of action to protect their crop.

What
we monitor

By installing a network of intelligent sensors and a weather station, you can monitor all the environmental conditions that could impact the yield of your vineyard.

Leaf Wetness
One of the most important sensors in the Smart Vineyard network, is the Leaf Wetness sensor.
Using data from this sensor, we can use disease modelling to forecast potential infections.

Temperature & Humidity
These sensors can measure temperatures between -30°C and 50°C with the ability to report to 0.1 of a degree and humidity between 0% and 100%.
Both measurements are essential in disease modelling.
Rainfall
The rainfall sensor uses the tipping spoon principle and can measure rainfall hourly for more accurate disease modelling.

Soil Moisture
By monitoring soil moisture levels, you can implement targeted irrigation, watering only the parts of the vineyard that needs it. This will reduce water usage and reduce costs.

Wind Speed & Direction
Measuring wind speed and direction determines whether your vines need protection from prevailing winds, as well as indicating when conditions are suitable to apply crop protection effectively.

Barometric Pressure
Barometric pressure monitoring is an important factor in forecasting rainfall. As air pressure drop by 1 millibar per 10 metres above sea level, localised air pressure monitoring helps forecast localised rainfall.
Data Analysis
Your
reports &
dashboards
Your Smart Vineyard comes with an array of management, reporting and forecasting dashboards:-
1. Sensor management dashboard
2. Weather station dashboard
3. Downy mildew forecasting dashboard
4. Real-time 2D & 3D sensor map
5. API access to all data
These will help you to make quicker and more informed decisions on protecting your crop.
